Job Description
The Responsibilities
· Work with the Principal and Senior Management Team to align the Human Resources strategy with the school’s vision and goals
· Lead recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes for teaching and support staff
· Provide expert advice on employment law, performance management, and organisational change
· Champion staff wellbeing, engagement, and retention initiatives
· Develop and implement HR policies and ensure compliance with legislation and school standards
· Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with ERO, MoE, and employment law
What You Need to Be Successful
· A tertiary qualification in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
· At least five years of experience in a generalist HR role, ideally in education or not-for-profit
· Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment law and HR best practices
· Proven ability to build trust-based relationships and influence across all levels
· Excellent communication, discretion, and problem-solving skills
· Experience supporting change management and organisational development
· A proactive, positive attitude and a commitment to staff wellbeing and professional integrity
